Sorry, "Supernatural" fans, it's almost that time of the year again. Season 9 is almost over, and on Thursday, May 1, the CW released an official description for the finale, "Do You Believe in Miracles." The description calls the finale "shocking," which doesn't really say much when it comes to this show. "Shocking" pretty much comes with the territory when it comes to season finales and "Supernatural."
However, based on the description, it does sound like the Crowley versus Abaddon matter may be wrapped up by then – or at least put on the backburner while they're dealing with everything else on their plates. We know that Abaddon brings a surprising bargaining chip to the table in "King of the Damned," but the description out for the following episode, the penultimate of the season, "Stairway to Heaven," is all about the First Blade and the angels, so either focus is shifting or we could be nearing the end of that conflict.
In fact, the synopsis we have for the season 9 finale is all about the First Blade and the conflict with Metatron as well. We still don't quite know what the long-term effects are going to be for Dean with the Mark of Cain and the use of the First Blade, but will that come into play when it comes to facing off with Metatron? Could Dean be a wild card? Will Sam have to appeal to his brother like Dean to him in the season 8 finale?
Then there's the whole business with Metatron, who insisted that while there may be some twists along the way, he knows how it's going to end. Is Metatron's envisioned ending going to be what we see play out in the finale? Who will be by his side? But most importantly, where will the finale leave the brothers' relationship? There is a lot that needs to be talked about/fixed there, and we can just hope something is done about that this season.
Here's the official description from the CW of the "Supernatural" season 9 finale, "Do You Believe in Miracles," written by Jeremy Carver and directed by Thomas J. Wright:
THE SHOCKING SEASON FINALE — Dean (Jensen Ackles) feels the effects of the First Blade, and Metatron (guest star Curtis Armstrong) makes his move against humanity. Meanwhile, Sam (Jared Padalecki), Dean and Castiel (Misha Collins) face shocking consequences when taking the fight to Metatron (guest star Curtis Armstrong).
"Supernatural" season 9 airs Tuesdays at 9 p.m. on the CW. "Do You Believe in Miracles" airs May 20. What do you think of these finale spoilers? How do you think the season will end?
