'Supernatural' season 9 spoilers: Metatron's deal and trapping Gadreel

A few characters return in the next new "Supernatural" episode, 918, "Meta Fiction," for which the CW released an official description on Thursday, March 27.

While the more recent "Supernatural" episodes have been focused on Dean (Jensen Ackles) and the First Blade in Crowley's (Mark Sheppard) attempt to kill Abaddon (Alaina Huffman) and reclaim his throne without the competition, the focus will return to the angels and the mess that is heaven and the angels on Earth. Metatron (Curtis Armstrong) returns, and just like Bartholomew tried to do in "Captives," he wants Castiel (Misha Collins) for his side. We saw how that turned out for the angel, but it's not going to be so easy when it comes to Metatron. What will Metatron do when Castiel tells him no?

Meanwhile, Castiel had been hoping to be able to use the leftover grace in Sam (Jared Padalecki) to locate Gadreel (Tahmoh Penikett), but as we saw, he couldn't do it in "First Born." However, Sam and Dean are going to do something right in "Meta Fiction" and succeed, as we've already seen in the promo the CW has released of what's coming up next. (Check out the extended promo above.)

Here's the official description from the CW for "Supernatural" season 9 episode 18, "Meta Fiction," written by Robbie Thompson and directed by Thomas J. Wright:

"METATRON OFFERS CASTIEL A DEAL — Metatron (Curtis Armstrong) attempts to get Castiel (Misha Collins) to join forces with him. Still furious with Metatron, Castiel (Misha Collins) refuses, which sets a surprising plan in motion. Meanwhile, Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Dean (Jensen Ackles) capture Gadreel (Tahmoh Penikett)."

"Supernatural" season 9 airs Tuesdays at 9 p.m. on the CW. "Meta Fiction" airs on April 15. What are you hoping to see in episode 18?
