"Supernatural" season 9 returns with new episodes in just a few weeks, but fortunately, the CW provided an early Christmas present for fans by releasing the official description for episode 10, "Road Trip," written by Andrew Dabb and directed by Robert Singer, on Monday, Dec. 23.
The fall finale of "Supernatural" saw Dean (Jensen Ackles) find out that Ezekiel is not the angel possessing Sam (Jared Padalecki), but instead, it's Gadreel, and Gadreel now has his own agenda, thanks to a meeting with Metatron (Curtis Armstrong). That includes a hit list, and the first name was Kevin's (Osric Chau). Gadreel killed Kevin, delivered the devastating blow that there was no more Sam, and left Dean alone in the bunker with Kevin's body. Oh, and Castiel (Misha Collins) took another angel's grace. It was a crazy episode.
The CW already released a "Road Trip" promo teasing that they're going to need Crowley (Mark Sheppard) to help Sam, and now, thanks to the official description of episode 910, we know a bit more about what's next:
"Dean (Jensen Ackles) is devastated after Kevin's death and vows to find the angel that killed him, not only to free Sam (Jared Padalecki), but to seek revenge. Castiel (Misha Collins) arrives at the bunker and suggests they try to separate Sam's brain from the angel's so they can talk to Sam and have him expel Gadreel. However, there's one small problem: the only person who knows how to do that is Crowley (Mark Sheppard)."
We still have plenty of questions after that tease. How long will it take for them to get Sam back? What will happen when they do? Dean already gave the "here's what I did" speech, but unfortunately, it wasn't to Sam, like he had originally thought. How will taking another angel's grace affect Castiel? What's Crowley going to want/do next (and will "SPN" deliver on the teased Crowley/Abaddon showdown)?
"Supernatural" season 9 airs Tuesdays at 9 p.m. on the CW. "Road Trip" airs Jan. 14. What are you hoping to see in episode 10?
