'Supernatural' season 9 preview: Dealing with the devil to save a brother

"Supernatural" season 9 may have aired its midseason finale, but on Tuesday, Dec. 3, the CW released a new sneak preview teasing what to expect next.

Going into this season's midseason break for "Supernatural", Dean (Jensen Ackles) was shocked when he found out that the angel inside Sam (Jared Padalecki) wasn't really Ezekiel—he died in the fall—and as he tried to tell his brother about the choice he made, the angel in Sam (really Gadreel) had already taken over and made a deal with Metatron. For Metatron, he killed Kevin (Osric Chau) and delivered the bad news to Dean: there was no more Sam. But what does that mean about what's coming next?

The "SPN" promo for the upcoming episodes teases Dean's new plan to save his brother after his last one went terribly, terribly wrong. Castiel (Misha Collins) explains that Crowley (Mark Sheppard) can cast an angel out, but of course Crowley wants something in return: freedom. While Gadreel threatens to just rip apart Sam's body, Crowley's going to get the job done "the fun way," as you can see.

"Supernatural" season 9 airs Tuesdays at 9 p.m. on the CW. Episode 10, "Road Trip," airs Jan. 14. What do you think of this preview of what's coming up in 2014?
