They've faced demons, opening the gates of hell, prophecies and have beaten death countless times. However, according to the Supernatural team season 9 is going to be their best season so far. Supernatural star Jared Padalecki, gave his thoughts on the up coming and reflected back on the season 8 finale. “Season 9 is our best season in a long, long, long time. We’ve got a lot of cool new characters, some great old throwback characters, and just a really great, strong storyline.”
“A lot did happen in season 8,” Padalecki says. “The biggest part that sticks out to me was filming for three days with Mark Sheppard (who plays King of Hell Crowley), I really found that the script was beating up Sam and Jared. I found myself coming to work like, man, I really felt like I was in pain, and I think it translated on screen.”
Another hot-topic for this season is Castiel's turn from Angel to Human. The minds behind the show have mentioned that Cas will have a lot of transitioning and learning to do this season, while trying to deal with the repercussions of his actions and the other fallen angles that are less than happy with him. No word yet on how the brother will react to a human Castiel, especially since in season 6 Dean remarked that a powerless Cas is equivalent to a "baby in a trench coat."
As for Jensen Ackles's Dean Winchester, sources say that he will be having some decisions to make early on that could effect the entire outline of the season. The produce talked stated that in the being of the season the brother will be very close, but one is keeping a secret that could cause a rift between them.
Supernatural season nine premiers on Tuesday, October 8, on the CW.
