'Supernatural' season 9 episode 22 sneak peek: Sam's concern is showing

Abaddon may be dead, but the Winchesters' problems are far from over, and what it took to kill her is the source of one of them. As we can see in the sneak peek the CW released on Wednesday, May 7, from next week's "Supernatural," episode 9x22, "Stairway to Heaven," the First Blade is going to continue to be the cause of a disagreement for the brothers.

At the end of the last episode, Sam (Jared Padalecki) suggested that they store the First Blade away until they know they're going to be using it for sure because he's seen what it's doing to Dean (Jensen Ackles). However, Dean gave him a very definitive "no" in response. As we can see in the "Stairway to Heaven" sneak peek, that's far from the last conversation they'll have about it.

The clip begins with Dean rudely waking Sam up and getting a gun pointed his way for it. "Nice reflexes," Dean compliments. They may have just gotten in two hours ago, but Dean's not tired and they have work to do. Castiel (Misha Collins) called and told him that something's going down in Missouri, but he wouldn't say more over the phone "because he is a weird guy," Dean says. "He's a weird dorky little guy, but he happens to have an army of angels behind him," and that army could really come in handy against Metatron.

Sam wants to leave the First Blade behind because they didn't decide anything. Dean did. "A hockey stick that can kill anything might come in handy," Dean argues, which is a fair point. However, Sam has a better argument: "How many times have we been around this block? Magic that powerful comes at a price, and right now, we don't know what that price is." Dean insists he's fine but finally agrees to save it for the big boss fights. Should Sam believe his brother?

"Supernatural" season 9 airs Tuesdays at 9 p.m. on the CW. What do you think of this episode 22 "Stairway to Heaven" sneak peek? How do you think the season is going to end for Dean?
