It may still be the middle of hellatus, but there's a bit of good news for "Supernatural" fans, as on Thursday, July 10, the CW released a description for the upcoming 10th season. So what comes next after that insane season 9 finale?

In "Supernatural" season 9, Dean took on the Mark of Cain in order to kill Abaddon with the First Blade – and it worked. However, doing so changed him, and it changed him in a way he didn't want, as he told Sam as he sat bleeding to death following a final confrontation with Metatron. "I'm proud of us," Dean told Sam before he died, and after the season had begun with Dean tricking Sam into letting an angel possess him to heal him after he didn't complete the trials in season 8, Sam was ready to do what the brothers always do when one of them dies: fix it. Whether that was a deal, a spell, or something else didn't matter.

However, as Sam was summoning Crowley, the King of Hell was already in the bunker, with Dean's body, explaining that he might have left something out about Cain and the Mark. Cain too had chosen death over becoming the killer the Mark wanted him to be, but the mark never quite let him go. "What you're feeling right now, it's not death," Crowley told Dean. "It's life, a new kind of life. Open your eyes, Dean. See what I see. Feel what I feel. Let's go take a howl at the moon." And when Dean did open his eyes, they were demon black.

Meanwhile, the angels were able to lock up Metatron, but Castiel didn't want to take over as leader. He just wanted to be an angel. The only problem was he may not even be able to do that because of the little matter of his stolen grace. He needs more.

Here's the official season 10 description from the CW: "Season 10 begins with Sam’s frantic search for his missing brother, who is gone without a trace. The road to recovering the wayward Dean takes Sam down dark paths, with consequences that will shake the boys to their core. Meanwhile, Castiel has to pick up the pieces in the aftermath of Metatron’s campaign. With his grace failing and rogue angels still on the loose, Cass will face the ticking clock of his own mortality as all-new threats emerge to once again push all of our heroes to their limits."

Both Misha Collins and Mark Sheppard will be series regulars in season 10, meaning Castiel will find a way to get some grace and Crowley should be a big player in Dean's "new life." The description reveals Dean is missing, but is he with Crowley or could he be off on his own? With Dean missing, with Castiel tell Sam about his grace problem or will he keep it a secret so the Winchester can focus on finding his brother? Will Crowley letting his son go in the present come back to haunt him in season 10? These are just several questions that will hopefully be answered in the fall.

"Supernatural" returns to the CW with its 10th season on Tuesday, Oct. 7 at 9 p.m. What are you hoping to see with Sam, Dean, Castiel and Crowley?
