Many "Supernatural" fans have been struggling to get through what they call 'hellatus' not hiatus. The 10th season is set to premiere on October 7, 2014. Jensen Ackles just finished directing the first shot episode of the season that will air as the third episode. The TCA's took place on Friday and some tidbits of information came out there in regard to the fifth episode which will also be a huge milestone, as it will be episode 200. Now, Jeremy Carver isn't a big spoiler-giver but he does drop tidbits and teases, so as the season develops I'm sure we'll all get some more information. Of course, if you are keeping spolier-free, you will want to stop reading any further.

First, let's tackle what the CW Press Release stated about Season 10:

"Season 10 begins with Sam’s frantic search for his missing brother, who is gone without a trace. The road to recovering the wayward Dean takes Sam down dark paths, with consequences that will shake the boys to their core. Meanwhile, Castiel has to pick up the pieces in the aftermath of Metatron’s campaign. With his grace failing and rogue angels still on the loose, Cass will face the ticking clock of his own mortality as all-new threats emerge to once again push all of our heroes to their limits."

"Dark paths" and "consequences that will shake the boys to their core", has me both excited and worried. I understand that things can't be sunshine and rainbows, but I'm hoping that for the most part these "consequences" are dealt with by the brothers being at the others side and there isn't another great divide to traverse. Yes, familial tension has in the past moved the story forward in previous seasons, but at some point it will become a schtick and not a useful tool. However, after ten seasons of sticking with "Supernatural" this viewer isn't going anywhere and is riding this train to the end of the line with the Winchester boys.

So, the TCA event held on Friday, July 18, 2014 dropped the bit of news via showrunner, Jeremy Carver for episode 200. He said that the 200th episode will be a meta-episode giving a nod to fans. Now, what gives me pause, is that he said it will be a "musical-ish" episode. Of course, this isn't a new concept, as we've seen this before with shows like "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" and even "Grey's Anatomy". Yes, Jensen has some great singing chops, but even a "musical-ish" episode sounds so far from "Supernatural" that it feels like a slap in the face rather a nod to fans. Plus, why waste the 200th episode on a meta episode that is "musical-like"? Shouldn't that kind of mile marker for a show be an epic dramatic episode? I'm open-minded and will hold final opinion until the episode airs. But, I will put this on the books, this "musical-ish" episode should not be the 200th episode, fine air it in the season but not for the big 200.

Other spoiler tidbits that have come out by writers and/or actors, etc:

Demon Dean has a woman in his life and from what I gather she's human, not a demon (how long she lasts or how significant, I guess we'll find out as the season pans out)

Crowley has his hands full with Demon Dean and their relationship develops tensions very early. According to Jensen Ackles (Dean) Crowley will even seek some help in that matter.

From what has come out there will be more than a couple episodes of Demon Dean (how long Demon Dean will be driving the bus is unclear)

Castiel's grace is slipping away, so he is dealing with his impending death if a solution isn't found (I say go find the vial with your grace in it Cas. Metatron probably put it up somewhere or is he wearing it on a necklace like Uriel did with Anna's?)

At any rate, there is a lot to be eager about and getting to October 7, 2014 seems to be creeping at three-toed sloth pace, so "Supernatural" season 10 ... hurry up and get here!
