In an interview at the 2014 San Diego comic con Jensen Ackles talks about the up coming10th season of Super Natural. This season not only is he directing but he is also taking on a new character. In the new season he will be playing demon Dean and is finding directing and acting quite the challenge. Jensen has developed a deeper admiration for other actors who have done this on a large scale.
When asked what is the biggest challenge of having a character that has lasted this long he expressed the regret of having to let the character go eventually. Jared Padalecki joined in and told of how much easier it is to keep a character from becoming stale on a show like Supernatural. Jared explained that the possibilities are endless because they are basically only limited by the imagination. Jared also spoke of his appreciation for the fans who are ever so forgiving and loyal, without that, there would not be room to keep experimenting with the characters.
It is truly unusual to have characters that stay the same through the years yet are constantly changing. Things change so much from season to season there is hardly time to get bored.
Misha Collins in his interview expressed his joy of handing out 1500 cups of coffee he was able to talk a local coffee shop into donating for people who stood in line all night. He also explained that this season his character Castiel has accepted that he is dying since he is not willing to take another Angel’s Grace. Instead of trying to save himself he is trying to save Dean. Misha says 2014 episode 5 which is overall episode 200 will be a musical ish episode so that should be a lot of fun.
It sounds like a good time was had by all at the 2014 San Diego Comic Con and that the new 2014-15 season of Supernatural should as usual keep us our toes and begging for more. It is refreshing to see that egos are not getting in the way of a shows success.
