'Supernatural' 9x21 photos: Castiel's meeting with Gadreel, Crowley vs. Abaddon

There are several storylines with loose ends that need to be tied up still, and there are only a few episodes remaining in "Supernatural" season 9 to do just that. Next week is episode 21, "King of the Damned," and on Wednesday, April 30, the CW released promotional photos teasing what to expect.

In this episode, Castiel (Misha Collins) turns to Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Dean (Jensen Ackles) for help interrogating one of Metatron's angels (Gordon Woolvet) he captured, and Sam takes notice of how Dean eagerly accepts. Plus, Castiel sets a meeting with Gadreel (Tahmoh Penikett). Meanwhile, Abaddon (Alaina Huffman) reveals a shocking bargaining chip when Crowley (Mark Sheppard) refuses to help her kill Sam and Dean.

We've already seen one promo after "Bloodlines" for this episode, and the CW has also released an extended one. The new footage in this slightly longer preview begins with Crowley calling about being in touch when he found Abaddon – but he happens to be with her at that moment. Also, we get a look at Castiel and Gadreel's meeting, and the former tells the latter that he's been deceived. And nothing says "let's be reasonable" like shooting a gun, right, Abaddon?

The "King of the Damned" photos in the slideshow offer a look at several parts of the episode. We have Castiel and Gadreel's meeting, and admittedly, Gadreel does seem like a bit of a wild card, so maybe Castiel is looking in the right place talking to him. However, it looks like assassin angels are going to interrupt the party.

Also, Crowley has some business of his own to attend to (is Gavin supposed to be Abaddon's bargaining chip?), plus Sam and Dean reunite with Castiel and get a look at what's been going on with the angels. Does Castiel have his own office now?

"Supernatural" season 9 airs Tuesdays at 9 p.m. on the CW. What do you think of these episode 21 "King of the Damned" photos?
