Naomi Campbell was mugged while in Paris according to a Reuters report on Jan. 4. The 42-yeaer-old supermodel was attempting to hail a taxi when two assailants attacked her.
Two men on motorbikes had apparently been watching the model and waiting for an appropriate time to strike. Naomi was knocked to the ground and robbed. They attempted to steal her handbag and it is believed they were after her jewelry.
Campbell suffered injury to her knee and was flown to Vail, Colo. by her billionaire boyfriend Vladmir Doronin so that she could receive treatment from an orthopedic surgeon.
The incident occurred in the upscale Marais neighborhood, a short distance from a bar where John Galliano, a fashion designer earned himself a place in the headlines by lashing out at fellow bar patrons with anti-Semitic slurs in 2011.
In recent weeks, Campbell has been seen using crutches and a wheel chair.
According to the New York Post’s Page Six, Naomi said, "I am sorry, I do not talk to press, but I am fine."
