British Supermodel Naomi Campbell says she is “fine” after being violently attacked and robbed on a Paris street.
The New York Post’s Page Six reported multiple sources saying that thugs “knocked over and robbed” Campbell while she was hailing a cab. The thugs escaped, and Campbell was left on the ground with a torn ligament.
“It was terrifying,” one source said, “Naomi believes the assailant had been watching her, casing her out, and waited for a moment to strike when she was alone.”
But a French police source, when asked about Campbell’s violent incident, which allegedly happened days before Christmas 2012, checked the Paris’ crime reports for December, and didn’t find any report of Campbell’s incident.
The police source’s findings left a huge question mark looming over the authenticness of Campbell’s mugging incident. “A high profile celebrity being attacked in Paris would be something everybody remembers,” the police source was quoted as saying.
“The thought of Naomi Campbell hailing a taxi in the street is laughable,” said another source that works for a company that organizes limousines for Campbell when she is in the city. “Let alone the idea that a gang would attack her. It all sounds absolutely bizarre.”
Campbell’s alleged incident may sound strange, but the reality is, since that dreadful day, Campbell has been using a wheelchair and crutches to get around, and her 42-year-old billionaire boyfriend, Vladimir Doronin, has apparently beefed up her security crew.
