Superheroes in animal rescue gathered at PETCO in Cape Girardeau, Mo. Saturday Oct. 12 and representatives from CHS-PAWS in Hayti, Mo said the day was a success for them and the animals. “We adopted four dogs and one kitten,” CHS-PAWS Manager Erma Page said, “We were very pleased to adopt half of the animals we took up there with us.”
The event was sponsored by PETCO in Cape Girardeau as part of the programs available to their Adoption Partners. Licensed shelters and rescued gathered to give the public a chance to view their animals, make donations, and learn more about adopting.
“This gives us an opportunity to bring our animals out of the shelter and to a different group of people,” Page said, “We are always grateful for the opportunity to meet more people and spread the message about adopting shelter animals to good homes.”
Several area shelters and rescues participated in the event that drew good crowds. CHS-PAWS says normally they are on site at Cape Girardeau the first Saturday of every month to adopt animals.
“Our relationship with the PETCO in Cape Girardeau has helped us immensely over the last several years,” Page said, “We enjoy the special events and have adopted several animals on site. This gives us an opportunity to expand awareness about CHS-PAWS to a different area and meet new people.”
