Supercharged C6 Corvette vs Classic Firebird with NOS

This race between the two goliaths of performance. The Corvette C6 built by "The Vette Doctors" vs. a classic muscle car era Pontiac Firebird with nitrous oxide. The two vehicles represent a class of cars which some consider a dieing breed. The larger motors in these vehicles are capable of extreme amounts of horse power and torque. The Corvette C6 supercharged features tons of aftermarket upgrades as well. The Firebird appears to be running slicks, and an upgraded suspension. Let's watch the video!

Summary

After watching the race, you can see that these two competitors are nearly dead even. This is a drivers race indeed. The high amount of hp per pound ratio combined with a rear wheel drive setup creates a very hard situation to launch even from a rolling start. The high amount of torque wants to pull the vehicles to the left or right, also known as torque twisting. Both drivers do a great job, and watching closely you can see each driver is in complete control of their vehicle. With high horse power like what's displayed here, drivers must be completely in tune with what the vehicle is doing. Balancing throttle off the line helps launch a high horse power vehicle such as the Corvette and Firebird. Great race!
