The Superbowl is coming fast! It's time to plan your party; preparing snacks, supplying drinks, and organizing seats! With all the excitement of the Superbowl, we tend to go ALL OUT with food and drinks, as if it were another holiday. Aren't the holidays over? Aren't we working on our New Years resolutions? It's okay to have an all out Superbowl party, but why not do it a little healthier so you don't go too far off track? How do you pursue your fat-loss, and weight loss goals with all of these tempting treats? It can be done! Think about your typical party snacks, in a healthier but tasty way instead of your typical veggie platter, and fruit salad.
Spicy Hot Wings! Marinate raw chicken tenders, or cubed chicken breast in one part wing sauce, one part hot sauce, and one table spoon canola oil. Bake at 350 for at least 20-30 min (depending on amount of chicken). Remove from oven and toss chicken in a fresh bowl with wing sauce, and serve with your favorite low-fat ranch/blue cheese, or Healthy Dip as seen below.
Healthy Dipping! Take 2 cups fat free Greek yogurt and mix one packet of dried ranch dressing mix and serve. THAT EASY! If it needs more flavor, add more dried mix, or minced onion. This dip is also great with your veggie platter, or assortment of crackers or chips! Fat free helps with fat-loss!
Not'cho normal Nachos! Take a bag of baked tortilla chips spread on a baking sheet wrapped in foil. Distribute shredded chicken, or canned chicken over chips. Then sprinkle black beans, low fat cheddar cheese, and salsa evenly over chips. Take a packet of taco seasoning and sprinkle over top, and BROIL until cheese is melted. Take out of oven and sprinkle shredded lettuce over top for garnish. Served stirred Greek yogurt in place of sour cream, and extra salsa on the side!
Champion cocktail! Instead of filling up on beer, take vodka, any flavored seltzer water (unsweetened), and one drink packet mix of your favorite flavor and mix! Less calories, just as much fun!
