Superbowl fun is about good ads and halftime entertainment or where to party

See also

Who wins when the Seattle Seahawks battle the Denver Broncos for the NFL’s championship title Feb. 2, is only part of Super Bowl XLVIII story.

Sure it matters to Colorado and Washington State fans who will take home the Vince Lombardi Trophy. But for the rest of the watchers there are also the ads and half-time entertainment. And there’s the question of where to go to scarf down chicken wings, tacos, pop corn, beer, wine, pop and other party stuff with friends.

First, the ads: With apps available now for everything, is it really surprising there is one for Super Bowl commercials? You can download at the App Store. For an “aw” reaction watch for the Budweiser’s Clydesdales 2014 commercial. In 2013, a Clydesdale left his group to nuzzle the trainer who worked with him as a foal. Reports are that this year the horse is friends with a puppy. And watch for Jaguar’s British bad guys commercial that includes Sir Ben Kingsley.

Secondly, what about half-time entertainment outdoors in the winter? Will Bruno Mars and the Red Hot Chili Peppers generate enough heat to warm up New Jersey’s Metlife Stadium? And will Beyoncé and friends brave frostbite or don warm-ups for Superbowl 2014?

Third, some suggestions on where to go in the Chicago area to watch Superbowl XLVIII:
