'Super Smash Bros.' Wii U demo at Best Buy for E3 2014 detailed

Nintendo previously announced a “Super Smash Bros. for Wii U” demo at Best Buy stores as part of its E3 promotions. Tuesday, the company revealed the details of when the demo will be available and at what retail locations including a pre-order bonus for the first ones to put their money down for the game.

The “Super Smash Bros. for Wii U” demo will be available on Wednesday, June 11 from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. and Saturday, June 14 from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. local time. This will be the same demo version that will be available for attendees of E3 2014 in Los Angeles, according to a Nintendo press release. The demo will support up to four players in “Super Smash Bros. for Wii U” with characters from the “Pokémon,” “Super Mario Bros.,” “Mega Man,” “Sonic the Hedgehog” and “The Legend of Zelda” all available. Additionally, the first 70 attendees who pre-order the game at each event will receive a “rare collectible ‘Super Smash Bros.’ gold coin.” All those who pre-order the game will receive a $5 My Best Buy Rewards Zone certificate once the game is picked up for purchase.

Meanwhile, Nintendo is hosting the “Super Smash Bros.” Invitational at E3 for a tournament scheduled to take place on June 10. The tournament will feature 16 previously selected players to battle it out in the yet to be released brawler. The event will be livestreamed on Twitch’s E3 channel and Nintendo’s Twitch channel at 7 p.m. EST / 4 p.m. PST that day.

“Super Smash Bros.” for the Wii U is currently scheduled for a winter 2014 release. There are rumors that this will be one of the first titles to utilize the new “Skylanders”-like collectible figurines. The Nintendo 3DS version of “Super Smash Bros.” is currently targeting a summer 2014 release.
