'Super Smash Bros.' Nintendo Direct coming next week

Nintendo fans eager for more news regarding the 3DS and Wii U versions of Super Smash Bros. will be happy to hear that a special Nintendo Direct was announced earlier today. The Direct is scheduled for Tuesday, April 8th, and will be streaming live at 3 p.m. PT and 6 p.m. ET. Further details regarding this presentation are still unknown.

This Direct closely follows a couple of big Smash Bros. reveals, namely the fact that Luigi's Final Smash now uses the Poltergust 5000 and that Skyward Sword's Gust Bellows will be a usable item that can blow players off the edge of a stage. This announcement was also made one day after Reuben Langdon stated that he finally had a chance to voice Raiden from Metal Gear Solid while working on Smash Bros.

While Nintendo hasn't stated this, having an entire Direct dedicated to this title makes a new character reveal very likely. Neither version of this title has a solid release date, with Sakurai having stated that his team is doing their best to release this game during 2014. The Nintendo Direct stream can be watched at Nintendo's website.
