'Super Smash Bros.' for 3DS and Wii U will be shown at E3

Nintendo president Saturo Iwata recently promised that "Super Smash Bros." for the Wii U will make an appearance at E3 in June this year. Now game director Masahiro Sakurai clarified Friday that the Nintendo 3DS version will make an appearance as well.

It's unknown exactly what form the new edition "Super Smash Bros." will make at E3 but Sakurai makes it sound as if it will be more than just screenshots.

"Wii U and 3DS versions -- I would like to show you both." a translation of his Twitter posts read. “Other games have had visuals shown, but you still have to wait for Smash Bros. But we'll be able to release something better.”

Sakurai has previously stated that gamers should not expect a larger roster of characters with "Super Smash Bros." for the Wii U but a change of direction instead.

Other Mario franchises confirmed to be at E3 from the Nintendo Direct broadcast include both "Mario Kart" and a new "3D action Mario game" for the Wii U. Both are expected to show up at the game convention in playable form.
