Super Smash Bros. Direct announced for April 8

A special Nintendo Direct has been announced today, one that will focus specifically on the upcoming Super Smash Bros. games for the WiiU and 3DS.

The Smash Bros. Direct will be coming to fans all over the world on April 8, at 6 p.m. EST. You can watch the direct at the Nintendo website.

All of the newcomers so far have been announced during directs since last June. It would come as no shock if the new direct, being only about Smash Bros, featured the appearance of a new character.

Some other things to look out for would be new stages, items, and assist trophies. Game creator Masahrio Sakurai had a little bit to say about the direct, but nothing too helpful for those speculating.

"There will be all kinds of info about the new Smash Bros. games on the simultaneous global stream that will be delivered "directly" to you, so don't miss it."

It's pretty tough to figure anything out from that quote, so it seems like our best bet is to wait and see what the direct has in store for us. Personally I wouldn't mind seeing Paper Mario added to the fight.

What do you guys think? Who would you be most excited about playing as in the new Smash Bros. game?
