Masahiro Sakurai has provided a look at Fox McCloud’s weapon in the Nintendo Wii U version of the upcoming multiplatform video game, “Super Smash Bros. 4.” According to a report from Mii-Gamer on Oct. 7, the game director showed off an up-close look at the handgun.
The weapon, which features the “Star Fox” logo on top, can “open up” upon firing. Fox McCloud can be seen aiming the sophisticated handgun. In the previous game in the series, the character was able to use the weapon to shoot damaging lasers at long distances. You can check out the new screen, as well as some other shots from the fourth main “Super Smash Bros.” installment, in the slideshow near the top of this article and Masahiro Sakurai’s comments below (courtesy of Mii-Gamer):
Here’s a close-up snapshot of Fox McCloud’s Blaster. It can open up.
Fox McCloud has been a member of the roster since the very first game in the “Super Smash Bros.” series. He was announced for “Super Smash Bros. 4” when the sequel was formally revealed at this year’s Electronic Entertainment Expo in Los Angeles. In addition to his aforementioned long-range weapon, he also has several close-range maneuvers.
Nintendo has announced 17 playable characters, including Fox McCloud, so far for “Super Smash Bros. 4” on the Nintendo Wii U and Nintendo 3DS. More of the roster should be revealed before the crossover fighting game is released in North America next year. You can pre-order the product from Amazon in the following link: “Super Smash Bros. 4”
