Masahiro Sakurai has teased a potential new stage hazard character for “Super Smash Bros. 4” on the Nintendo Wii U and Nintendo 3DS. According to a report by Mario Party Legacy on Aug. 20, the game director showcased a new stage for the Nintendo Wii U version of the crossover fighting game.
The latest level in “Super Smash Bros. 4” will be based on “Metroid: Other M.” The action-adventure video game, which was first released for the Nintendo Wii console on Aug. 31, was developed by Nintendo and Team Ninja (the studio behind the “Dead or Alive” and “Ninja Gaiden” series). Out of the blue, here’s a new stage–the Pyrosphere from Metroid: Other M! An enemy from Samus’s past may appear at any second…
The stage in “Super Smash Bros. 4” is based on a boss battle from “Metroid: Other M” in which Samus takes on Ridley. Masahiro Sakurai’s statement suggested that Ridley would be appearing as a stage hazard. Many fans previously wanted the mini-boss from the “Metroid” series to appear in the “Super Smash Bros.” series as a playable character.
