Several subjects have been discussed in regards to the “Super Smash Bros 4” for Wii U and 3DS roster. According to a report from The REM on Aug. 27, Nintendo of America was questioned about the recent leak featuring the 3DS version of the crossover fighting game. A representative responded by saying that the company has nothing to announce in regards to the subject at this current time.

An individual responsible for submitting “Super Smash Bros 4” for 3DS to the ESRB was apparently responsible for the leaks. A rumor suggested that Nintendo may have found the perpetrator, who has since been fired and could be sued. The publisher was previously planning to unveil the rest of the characters in the Coro Coror magazine.

The leaked “Super Smash Bros 4” for Wii U and 3DS roster includes some new and familiar faces. The newcomers that got revealed early are Bowser Jr., Dark Pit, Shulk and the dog from Duck Hunt. The returning veterans disclosed in the leaks were Dr. Mario, Mr. Game and Watch, Ness, R.O.B. and Wario.

The list also has a few somewhat surprising omissions in terms of past participants. Nintendo is apparently leaving out Ice Climbers, Lucas, Solid Snake and Wolf as playable characters. A lot of fans especially wanted to play as Solid Snake. However, Nintendo may have excluded him due to the lack of recent “Metal Gear Solid” games being released on Nintendo platforms. These individuals could be added as DLC although the publisher has not yet disclosed any plans regarding the post-launch content support for the software product.

Nintendo did recently confirm DLC support for another big game, “Mario Kart 8.” So it appears that the company may be starting to embrace releasing expansion packs. “Super Smash Bros 4” for 3DS is going to come out on Oct. 3 while the “Super Smash Bros 4” for Wii U release date is currently scheduled for sometime in the 2014 holiday season.
