Another “Super Smash Bros 4” for Wii U and 3DS returning character has been confirmed. According to a report from Mii Gamer on Feb. 27, Waluigi is coming back to the crossover fighting series. However, he won’t be playable, which upsets many of his fans.
In “Super Smash Bros Brawl,” Waluigi can be summoned as an assist trophy. During his brief appearance, he will run to the nearest opponent and to the ground before finishing his attack combination off with a final blow.
He will also appear as an assist trophy in “Super Smash Bros 4” for Wii U and 3DS. Although Masahiro Sakurai acknowledged that fans wanted Waluigi to be a playable fighter, the character can only be summoned. You can find a screen of the assist trophy, along with other shots from the title, with the slideshow embedded to the left side of this article as well as the comment from the game director below:
Once again, Waluigi's Assist Trophy joins the collection!! …Which also means he's not a playable character. Just because you try hard doesn't mean you'll make it into the battle.
The “Super Mario Bros” franchise is already heavily represented in “Super Smash Bros 4 with Luigi, Mario, Peach and Rosalina as playable characters. Furthermore, Wario previously appeared as a fighter in “Super Smash Bros Brawl.”
Masahiro Sakurai is leading the development of “Super Smash Bros 4” for Wii U and 3DS, which is set to come out sometime before the conclusion of 2014.
