‘Super Smash Bros. 4’ Wii U and 3DS Lucario special counter attack detailed

Masahiro Sakurai, director of the Super Smash Bros. series, have disclosed new information about one of Lucario’s key offensive and defensive skills for Super Smash Bros. 4 for Wii U and Nintendo 3DS. According to a report by JustPushStart from Feb. 11, Lucario’s Double Team move will serve as a counter attack that allows the Pokémon to avoid taking damage and gives a brief opening to attack.

As Sakurai previously detailed, Lucario has received a significant boost in power and overall skill. Those that opt to use Lucario will also have the Double Team move to use to deceive enemies and to create openings to attack while an opposing player is vulnerable.

The Double Team attack serves as a counter attack of sorts. Instead of reflecting an attack, Lucario will dodge the attack with an illusory copy, leaving the attacking player temporarily defenseless. Find Sakurai’s full explanation of Double Team below:

You missed me, because you attacked my illusory copy from my Double Team move!

The Double Team move is a valuable move that gives the player a defensive and offensive advantage when used and timed properly. Similar to Marth's counter attack, skilled players will be able to use this move to create openings and to take advantage of an aggressive opponent.

Super Smash Bros. 4 is scheduled for a 2014 release for Wii U and Nintendo 3DS in North America.
