Super Smash Bros 4” for Wii U and 3DS will feature several variations of the side smash attack from Little Mac. According to a report from Mii Gamer on March 6, Masahiro Sakurai revealed that the newcomer can perform a straight right punch as his normal side smash move.

However, players can also modify the same attack by tilting the attack upwards to create an uppercut. Although it won’t blast away the competitors, the most powerful variation is the body hook, which is done by tilting downwards during the smash attack sequence. You can find a screen showing the differences of the same move, as well as other shots from “Super Smash Bros 4” for Wii U and 3DS, with the slideshow to the left of this article. The details from Masahiro Sakurai can be seen below:

Little Mac's side smash attack is his straight right punch...but it can transform into an uppercut if you tilt diagonally upward, or a body hook if you tilt diagonally downward. The body hook is the most devastating of these moves and it doesn't blast the opponents away.

Little Mac is one of four newcomers to be confirmed so far in “Super Smash Bros 4” for Wii U and 3DS. The boxer started out as an assist trophy with “Super Smash Bros Brawl” before being upgraded to a playable status with the upcoming title. Despite his small statue and limited air abilities, the fighter is described to be very powerful with his punches when compared to others.

Little Mac can be selected in both Wii U and 3DS versions of “Super Smash Bros 4.”
