Masahiro Sakurai has commented on one of the platforming stages from the Nintendo 3DS version of the upcoming multiplatform video game, “Super Smash Bros. 4.” According to a report by Nintendo Everything on Oct. 14, the game director revealed that inspiration behind the platforming level.
Masahiro Sakurai stated that the stage is based on the “New Super Mario Bros.” series that appeared for the Nintendo DS, Nintendo Wii and Nintendo Wii U platforms. A new screen showed that players will have to maneuver around rotating platforms while trying to fight against each other at the same time. The game director also teased that the stage from the crossover fighting game will be troublesome. You can check out the new screen of the platforming level, as well as some other shots from the “Super Smash Bros. 4,” in the slideshow near the top of this article and his comments below (courtesy of Nintendo Everything):
Stages like this one are often seen in the New Super Mario Bros series. It means trouble.
The new stage has only been shown for the Nintendo 3DS version so far. However, the “New Super Mario Bros.” series has appeared on both home consoles and portable devices manufactured by Nintendo. The same level could theoretically appear for the Nintendo Wii U version of “Super Smash Bros. 4” as well.
Nintendo is planning to release the fourth main title from the “Super Smash Bros.” franchise next year. You can pre-order the product from Amazon in the following link: “Super Smash Bros. 4”
