Another new enemy character has been unveiled in regards to "Super Smash Bros 4" for Wii U and 3DS. According to a report from Mii Gamer on May 1, Masahiro Sakurai revealed on the Miiverse social network service that Orne will be featured in the crossover fighting game. However, the game director did not disclose how the creature is going to be implemented.
Orne came from "Kid Icarus: Uprising," a Nintendo 3DS exclusive video game that was developed by Masahiro Sakurai and released in 2012. The character looks like a giant skull that houses several smaller skulls in its mouth. Touching the intimidating monster would result in instant death in "Kid Icarus: Uprising."
Orne appears to have a similar effect in "Super Smash Bros 4" for Wii U and 3DS. Masahiro Sakurai revealed that it will deal "devastating damage," even more than the Ultimate Chimera from "Super Smash Bros Brawl." The chimera can be found in New Pork City and can instantly knock out the character from the stage with a single attack. The game director encourages player to run when encountering Orne.
Mii Gamer speculates that the skull could appear in the Smash Run mode, which is exclusive to "Super Smash Bros 4" for 3DS. Alternatively, it could also be a stage hazard or assist trophy. Masahiro Sakurai's description also hinted that Orne won't be a boss character that can be defeated, resulting in a big explosion that damages all opponents except for the participant that landed the killing blow.
"Super Smash Bros 4" for 3DS features different set of stages when compared to "Super Smash Bros 4" for Wii U. Furthermore, not every assist trophy and pocket monster would be appearing in both versions. The crossover fighting title is coming out this summer for the handheld system and later this winter on the high-definition console.
