‘Super Smash Bros 4’ Wii U and 3DS balance, portable graphics and more discussed

Nintendo has talked more about the character balance, portable graphics as well as other elements in “Super Smash Bros 4” for Wii U and 3DS. According to a report from Explosion on April 25, the publisher stated that development teams are dedicated to balancing the crossover fighting game. In addition to new characters, they will try to change the returning fighters as much as possible. For example, Yoshi now has a rainbow trail attached to his projectile attack while Zero Suit Samus has a new jet boot maneuver.

One of the new comers that will be undergoing the same balancing process is Mega Man. The third-party mascot was originally confirmed in “Super Smash Bros 4” for Wii U and 3DS during E3 2013. His powerful final smash attack utilizes the various versions of Mega Man throughout the years. Along with his original look, fans will be able to spot MegaMan.EXE, Mega Man Legends, Mega Man Star Force and Mega Man X. Nintendo also revealed some details on the graphics in “Super Smash Bros 4” for 3DS. The crossover fighting game will be running at 60 frames per second even with the stereoscopic 3D option turned on. However, the frame rate is expected to drop to 30 when summoning assist trophies and pocket monsters. Players should have the ability to turn off summons during customized matches.

“Super Smash Bros 4” for 3DS is the first of the two versions to be released as it is coming out in the summer. The launch window in regards to “Super Smash Bros 4” for Wii U is currently set for later in 2014 during the winter season. Nintendo could use the remaining production time to further balance Mega Man as well as the other fighters in the video game.
