“Super Smash Bros 4” for Wii U and 3DS is getting another character from “Pokemon X” and “Pokemon Y.” According to a report from Nintendo News on Feb. 28, Dedenne will be making a cameo in the upcoming crossover fighting game.
The pocket monster first appeared in “Pokemon X” and “Pokemon Y,” both of which were released for the Nintendo 3DS on Oct. 12th of last year. Dedenne is described as a combination of the electricity and fairy types.
In “Super Smash Bros 4” for Wii U and 3DS, the creature apparently sends out electric waves to shock nearby enemies. Unfortunately for fans of the character, Dedenne won’t be made playable. Masihiro Sakurai briefly commented on the reveal by saying that the pocket monster is “hard at work.” He made a similar comment when unveiling Waluigi, confirming that the “Mario” character can’t be controlled. You can find a screen of Dedenne and other characters in the upcoming title in the slideshow to the left of this article.
Players are able to summon a variety of characters from the “Pokemon” franchise by picking up and throwing “Pokeball” items. The creature being summoned is randomly selected with some appearing at a slower rate when compared to others.
Although Dedenne won’t be playable in “Super Smash Bros 4” for Wii U and 3DS, the “Pokemon” franchise is already well represented in the crossover fighting game with the return of Lucario and Pikachu.
