Masahiro Sakurai has discussed another feature in "Super Smash Bros 4" for Wii U and 3DS. According to a report from Mii Gamer on Aug. 25, the series creator revealed that players will be able to access a "Classic Mode" in the crossover fighting game. In this mode, the player has to fight in subsequent battles against computer-controlled characters.
Between fights, the next destination can be selected through a world map menu. At the end of the path is Master Hand, a popular boss character from the "Kirby" series as well as a reoccurring adversary in the "Super Smash Bros" franchise. Furthermore, players can also change the difficulty for every battle by adding more gold (and therefore earning more rewards) to the Fiend's Scale. Masahiro Sakurai also hinted that something special might happen with the fight against Master Hand if the difficulty level is increased beforehand.
Nintendo has confirmed several other modes so far in regards to "Super Smash Bros 4" for Wii U and 3DS. One of the most unique ones combine Home Run Derby with "Angry Birds." The portable version is also getting an exclusive Smash Run mode in which participants have to run through a dungeon quickly to battle enemies and find treasures in order to gain extra power-ups for an upcoming match. For multiplayer, players can either chose to play for fun or in more competitive matches.
Of the two versions, "Super Smash Bros 4" for 3DS is coming out first as it will begin to ship starting on Oct. 3. Nintendo should then launch "Super Smash Bros 4" for Wii U later in the holiday season although the company has remained silent on when exactly the console iteration is going to come out.
