Super Shred Diet: Lose 20 pounds in 4 weeks?

Dr. Ian Smith has vamped up his original Shred diet with a super charged program citing the potential to lose up to 20 pounds in one month.

According to Dr. Smith’s website:

“Dr. Ian K. Smith’s SUPER SHRED is a four-week super-charged program that shares the same principles—meal spacing, snacking, meal replacement, and diet confusion—as SHRED—with twice the intensity and a shorter quick-acting plan. It can be used on its own or in conjunction with SHRED”.
Dr. Smith has three rules of dieting: It shouldn’t be expensive, it shouldn’t be complicated, and people shouldn’t expect perfection.

Dr. Smith appeared on the Wendy Williams show today January 22. During the show he discussed the specifics of his new diet plan and shared some of the recipes supplied with the new book. Some of the meals included pancakes and bacon with a side of fruit, a healthy portion of lasagna with a side of vegetables along with an array of snack options. This diet plan seems to consist of “regular” food prepared in small portions. This plan requires a low sugar intake and most of the food options available, including snacks, contain almost no sugar. Also, 40 minutes of exercise daily is encouraged.

After reading a number of reviews online I have found that most people have had favorable results with this plan. However, many emphasize that this diet plan should not become a long term practice due to the low daily caloric intake required to achieve results.
