Super McCartney photog Bob Gannon publishing his collection of concert photos

Bob Gannon's name should be very familiar. His pictures of Paul McCartney (and Ringo Starr) concerts, of which he has attended many, have been used often through the past couple of years in our Beatles Examiner and Paul McCartney Examiner columns. (See the slideshow for a collection of photos and the links at the bottom for several slideshows.)

Now, Gannon has decided to self-publish his photos in two book versions. They'll be available for sale starting Monday.

The first and larger version, "A Fan's Eye View," will be 440 pages and contain his web reports, set lists, sound check set lists and over 850 photos. This book will feature photos from all the shows he attended in 2009 and 2010, he says. This will cost $ 97.95 for the soft cover, $101.95 for hard cover with dust jacket and $107.95 for hard cover with image wrap.

Less expensive is "A Fan's Eye View: The Highlights," which will have 160 pages with over 150 full page photos. "This book just takes my favorite photos of 2009 and 2010," he says. This version will be mainly pictures with little text and the photos won't include the sound checks, the Frank Loesser tribute or Ringo's 70th birthday show at Radio City Music Hall, which are all in the larger book. This version will cost $54.95 for the soft cover, $64.95 for hard cover dust jacket and $67.95 for hard cover image wrap.

Gannon says both versions will be released to sell and the links online on Monday at around noon (or soon thereafter) at www.blurb.com. Buyers will be able to preview the books at the site before purchasing.

"I don't know how long the offer lasts, but a friend found a discount code for first time buyers of their first book with 20% off by typing NEWBLURB," Gannon says. "It worked for several friends."

Gannon says he will also have a limited quantity available at the New York Metro Fest for Beatle Fans in the marketplace.

And will Paul and the band get copies? "Yes," he told us. "Next show I'm at!"
