New Orleans' most world renowned celebration, Mardi Gras, has been put on hold for the Super Bowl. But that doesn't mean the parties have stopped. On the flip side it only means more parties, more drinking, more celebrity hunting, and most of all more fun. New Orleans is literally ablaze with people, festivities and events.
Thursday's fireworks show kicked off this years Super Bowl by floating the roman numerals "XLVII" down the muddy Mississippi, sending light into the skies for this massive event that has become so significant to a still recuperating post-Katrina New Orleans.
Many exciting parties and events will be taking place over this weekend. The French Quarter, Downtown and Marigny neighborhoods will certainly not be sleeping for the next 72 hours. But out of all of these events, which are too many to name, only one organization is hosting an exclusive "after hours" party featuring some killer musical talent: Audi.
Saturday night, the Audi Forum's hosted private event at the Ogden Museum of Art will be the ultimate place to be late night from 12 - 4 am. Featuring special guests such as Solange Knowles and Diplo, it's going to be quite a pre-game party for the big game. And tonight (Friday), they're also throwing a private cocktail party with a special performance by Santigold.
Those lucky enough to be invited will have the chance to do some serious stargazing...celebrities attending the Friday and Saturday Audi parties include Jeremy Renner (Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters), Ashley Greene (The Twilight Saga), Henry Cavill (Man of Steel), Emmitt Smith (Former Dallas Cowboys Player/Dancing With The Stars), Jim Brown (Former Cleveland Browns Player), Barry Sanders (Former Detroit Lions Player), Nina Dobrev (The Vampire Diaries), Ian Somerhalder (The Vampire Diaries), Aaron Paul (Breaking Bad), Paul Wesley (The Vampire Diaries), Claire Holt (The Vampire Diaries), Zach Roerig (The Vampire Diaries), Torrey DeVitto (The Vampire Diaries), Candice Accola (The Vampire Diaries) and more.
Stay tuned for photos from the events.
