The price of chicken wings has driven one local restaurant to take them off the take-out menu, but Nirchi’s and other locals are gearing up for Super Bowl Sunday. Whether it's take-out or eat out, there are many Super Bowl options in our area.
According to Bloomberg.com, the wholesale price of chicken wings has gone up 52% in the last year, and that has pushed the Deacon’s Bench in Johnson City to discontinue take-out wings orders for the Super Bowl. Brother’s 2 in Endwell, Kelly’s Sports Bar in Endicott, and Nirchi’s (with five locations locally), expect to do a brisk take-out business on Super Bowl Sunday. As with most places, Wingz in Endicott says call ahead.
Kelly’s is offering a Big Game Special for pre-orders. Brothers 2 has Big Game “Party to Go" specials. Phil's Chicken House will provide a Tailgate Package and wings sold in 10s, 20s, or 50s.
Gallagher’s Irish Pub in Binghamton says “forget the wings – we’ve got jumbo drum sticks for $6 a half dozen."
If you’d prefer to go out for the game, Jonathan’s in Endwell will have a Super Sunday Buffet Party for $9.99 per person. Thirsty’sTavern in Binghamton will provide a free buffet during the game. The Dugout Sports Bar & Pizzeria in Apalachin will host a Big Blue Big Game Bash with a free half-time buffet that includes wings, pizza, hot dogs, and more.
There are plenty of food options for Sunday. Whatever direction you choose, enjoy the game!
