Super Bowl XLVII played last night on CBS in New Orleans, Louisiana. Although everyone was there to watch the game, they were all waiting in anticipation for the halftime show with Beyonce Knowles. Normally, Super Bowl fans will get out of their seats during halftime to use the bathroom or get something to eat or drink. Not last night. Everyone was glued to their seats for the halftime show performance of Beyonce Knowles.
Although reported from this article, Michelle Williams shot down the rumors, during an interview with WRUG RADIO, that there would be a reunion for Beyonce and Destiny’s Child, the three ladies did after all, reunite during the halftime show. While Beyonce was performing, Michelle Williams and Kelly Rowland appeared on stage to perform with the 31 year old singer. The three were reunited for a little while to sing songs such as “Bootylicious,” “Independent Woman,” and “Single Ladies.” Although the three were singing together, you could barely hear Michelle Williams and Kelly Rowland while Beyonce was performing at her best. The performance was so electrifying and intensifying that there was a blackout following the halftime show, although her performance was not the reason for the blackout.
Before Beyonce rocked it with the halftime show performance, Jennifer Hudson sang “America the Beautiful” with the 26 member Sandy Hooks elementary chorus. Following Jennifer Hudson and the Sandy Hook elementary chorus, Alicia Keys sand the “National Anthem” a little too slow.
All in all it was a good halftime show not to mention the performances before the game began. Beyonce is the performer who will stand out for a long time in fans minds as the best halftime show yet.
