The Super Bowl is all about football but for many it is also about getting to see the different types of commercials that will be aired. Many business owners take advantage of the Super Bowl to get the word out about their product or service. There are always a lot of great commercials which air during the Super Bowl since so many people will be tuning in.
Two commercials are already causing a controversy. One is a Taco Bell commercial and the other is for Volkswagen. The Taco Bell commercial is the one that is being pulled already because it was promoting its 12 pack of tacos. Complaints have been made that the commercial is encouraging people not to eat their vegetables. The reason they are complaining is because the voice-over for the commercial can be heard saying, “Bringing a tray of vegetables to a party is like punting on fourth and one.”
The second commercial that is causing some controversy is a Volkswagen ad. The commercial is being called racist because a Caucasian man from Minnesota is speaking in a Jamaican accent. Apparently he says, “Don’t worry, Be Happy.” Because he is speaking in a Jamaican accent and he is white, people are calling the commercial racist. However, Volkswagen has decided to allow the commercial to air despite the accusations.
