There is some new controversy coming up courtesy of Super Bowl XLVI, and this time it has to do with whether or not singer M.I.A. flashed her middle finger in the middle of her performance with Madonna.
While it may not have shown up well during the actual halftime show itself, at one brief moment the "Paper Planes" singer / rapper did in fact flip the bird. (You can see a censored image over at this link, and we have seen photos that confirm that she did.)
While this is not a controversy on part with what we have seen in the past courtesy of Janet Jackson or Justin Timberlake, it's still interesting to note that it happened and it could lead to consequences.
