Go Seahawks! The Seattle Seahawks won their first Super Bowl in Super Bowl XLVIII: the Seattle Seahawks vs. the Denver Broncos in one of the most one-sided games in the history of the Super Bowl. It was a victorious win; the Seahawks lead the entire game 43-8. The Broncos took a hard beating while scoring only one touchdown in the fourth quarter. Were the Broncos even there?
A good football game, or any game for that matter, is one that keeps fans in the unknown. Where both teams pour their heart and soul into it, fighting to the very end, where anyone could win and the outcome is a wonder. This was not one of those games.
Great win for Seattle, but Denver, what's the deal? By the second half, you almost felt bad for the Broncos. How did they make it this far and with that performance? Poor Peyton Manning, this could be his last Super Bowl ever, and what a way to go out. Even with the weather conditions the Broncos could have put more hustle into it. Nevertheless, it was Seattle's time to shine and boy did they.
This season's Seahawks are an incredible group of athletes and one strong team. Regardless if the Broncos stepped up or not, the Seahawks wouldn't have accepted anything but a win. They played their hearts out and earned that title. And who would have thought Malcolm Smith for MVP? With an outstanding performance and an exceptional interception, this long shot earned MVP.
The halftime show was nothing to write home about. The best part were the Chili Peppers who had only a brief cameo. No nip slips or Beyonce' tearing it up and the commercials, remember when Super Bowl commercials were the best part of the event? The usual products were advertise and in a nice attempt to grab viewers, most lacklustered.
Overall, Super Bowl XLVIII was, as usual, an event American to gather friends and family around the big screen to enjoy fatty foods and cold beers, and with the exception of the Seahawks finally winning it was just ok to be quite honest. To all those Seahawk fans congratulations on your win!
