Super Bowl snacks: A Super Bowl party recipe that won't ruin your diet

It's that time of year again! Time to start planning what Super Bowl snacks you will have at your Super Bowl Party. Enjoy good food for the big game with some super snacks that won't ruin your figure.

This artichoke dip is a low fat version of other artichoke dips packed with calories, fat, sour cream and mayonnaise. Because artichokes are tasty already, you can get away with using yogurt and low fat parmesan cheese instead of other, higher fat ingredients.

Super Bowl Snacks: Fattening Artichoke Dip alternative

Artichoke Dip

Two cans of artichokes
3/4 cup plain yogurt or low fat yogurt
3/4 cup low fat parmesan cheese
2 teaspoons of hot sauce

Puree the artichokes and yogurt until the dip is semi smooth. If you like a chunkier dip, dice your artichokes by hand and mix with the yogurt. Don't worry about removing any of the hard parts of the artichoke as they will soften when cooked. Pour into a baking dish and add parmesan cheese and hot sauce and stir until mixed. Bake in the oven at 375 degrees for forty five minutes or until top is starting to turn golden brown. Place under broiler for a minute or so to brown the top. Let cool for a few minutes and serve with healthy crackers for a healthy alternative to full fat dips.

Don't let your Super Bowl snacks ruin your New Year's resolutions; choose healthy alternatives to fattening ones. You'll be glad you did and who knows, your guests may not even notice the difference.
