Super Bowl Sloppy Joes

See also

Looking for an easy last minute Super Bowl food Idea? I've prepared these sandwiches for years. I've tried many sloppy Joe recipes, but this one is the best by far. It also travels well for picnics or potlucks.

What You Need:

(Makes: 12 servings)

2 pounds of ground beef

1/2 cup of onion, chopped

3/4 cup of chili sauce

1/2 cup of water

1/4 cup of prepared mustard

2 teaspoons of chili powder

12 hamburger buns, split

12 slices of cheddar cheese

What to Do:

STEP 1) In a large skillet, cook the beef and onion until beef is browned; drain and put meat back in skillet. Add chili sauce, water, mustard and chili powder. Simmer, uncovered, for 20 minutes, stirring occasionally.

STEP 2) Spoon 1/2 cup onto each bun; top with a cheese slice.

STEP 3) Enjoy!
