Super Bowl salaries!

Who makes more: Manning or Brees?

How much do you make? You can compare yourself to the marketplace by going to , which is also helpful in job negotiations during an interview.

Or, better yet, as for a City of Houston civilian job wage or even BETTER…Super Bowl Salary!!
These are a few maximum salaries of the City of Houston Civilian jobs (as of September 5th, 2009):
Administration & Regulatory Affairs Director: $189,306
Administrative Aide: $39,468
Airport Business Development Coordinator: $111.540
Airport Security Manager: $104,702
Bureau Chief, Public Health: $118,846
Central Payroll Clerk: $45,578
Chief Administrative Officer: $221,338
Communications Specialist: $50,388

Jail Attendant: $37,648
Kennel Attendant: $36.114
Media Representative: $73,398
Police Chief: $221,338
Sure being a Gardener for Houston at $36,114 seems like good cash, but what if you were the quarterback for the New Orleans Saints in 2009?
New Orlean’s Saints:
Quarterback o f Saints, Drew Brees made $9,000,000 in straight salary (before endorsement deals and “other” pay). Reggie Bush his go-to running back made $4,055,760. Mike McKenzie at corner back made $5,525,000. RB Pierre Thomas is on the LOW end with $377,426, Marques Colston (WR) $458.960, and Bobby McCray (DE) $3,300,000. Minimum wage for the Saints was $300,760.
Indianapolis Colts:
Peyton Manning is good. Is he TWICE as good as Drew Brees? We’ll see. In 2009, Peyton’s base pay was $18,700,000. Joseph Addai (RB) scrambles in at $1,561,750. Dallas Clark (TE) $2,248,333, Robert Mathis (DE) $6,810,000 and Reggie Wayne (WR) $6,660,000. Let’s not forget about QB Josh Betts! His annual salary in 2009 was $295,000. He’s not that far off Houston’s Chief of Police! In fact, the minimum wage for the Colts was $295,000.
Should you renegotiate your salary when your performance warrants it? Ask the 2009 Super Bowl champions (Super Bowl XLIII): The Pittsburgh Steelers.
Just remember: Players on the winning team get a $73,000 bonus. Players on the losing team receive a $38,000 bonus….or the equivalency of a Jail Attendant in Houston.
The 2010 Super Bowl - Super Bowl 44 (XLIV) - will be played on Sunday, February 7, 2010 at Sun Life (formerly Dolphin) Stadium in Miami, Florida.

It will be broadcast on CBS, which lists the start time as 6:18 p.m. EST (tune in at 6 p.m. for the full kickoff show).

The minimum wage for players makes me laugh!

This is an outrage that we pay grown men (and NOT women by the way) this kind of money to play a GAME. Yes, they are entertainers, but our leaders and educators need to be in this pay bracket...not jocks.

Are you serious? The Police Chief gets almost a quarter of a million to do...WHAT? Shoot innocent civilians? Profile the community? The players get hurt and deserve those kind of paychesks if that's what their agent arranges.

    GO SAINTS!!!

This makes no sense that grown men playing games get that kind of money. I would imagine they do not pay the girls like that!
