Super Bowl Party Ideas: Spicy Pigs in a Blanket
The Super Bowl no longer is just a game to see who has the best football team in the U.S. No it is much more. Millions are spent and millions view to see who has the best television commercial. There is that the idea of this man’s game is no longer just for him, women of all ages have come to enjoy the game just as much. Then, there are the parties. The food. Oh, the food. Those of us who enjoy cooking it can be a test to figure out what is the best party foods for a day that seems to go on forever. There’s the pre-game show that lasts for over 4 hours, the look back at the season and then the experts will give you a bit of their knowledge as to whom they see as the best team. Whoever that may be, go out and enjoy. It’s not just a game it’s the Super Bowl.
Super Bowl Spicy Pigs in a Blanket
1 (8-ounce) can original crescent dough
¼ cup hot sauce (I prefer Frank’s Hot Sauce)
20 mini hot dogs or cocktail franks
1 egg, lightly beaten
Optional: Blue Cheese Dressing or Ranch Dressing for a dip
1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.
2. Cut each triangle of crescent roll dough into thirds lengthwise, making 3 small strips from each roll.
3. Brush the dough strips lightly with hot sauce. Put the mini hot dogs on 1 end of the dough and roll up.
4. Arrange them, seam side down, on a greased cookie sheet. Brush with egg wash and sprinkle with the sesame seeds. Bake until golden brown, about 12 to 15 minutes. Serve warm with your favorite dipping sauces.
