Is there a Super Bowl date change on the horizon? The Super Bowl is not only the biggest football game of the year, but it is one of the most watched events on television each and every year.

However if you are planning your big Super Bowl party for next Sunday, you may want to wait until next Wednesday or Thursday to make it official with your friends and family.

According to the Chicago tribune on Jan. 23, the big game is scheduled for Sunday, Feb. 2, but the NFL put contingency plans in place to play the game any time between Friday and Monday next weekend if the weather forecast is bad.

"We are embracing the weather," commissioner Roger Goodell said Monday. "Football is played in the elements."

Early reports have the current weather forecast for Super Bowl Sunday in East Rutherford, N.J. is for a high of 40 and 30 percent chance of rain or snow. Sounds like a typical winter day in the northeast.

NFL fans can take that forecast with a grain of salt.

The day the weather man can predict an accurate forecast 10 days in advance is 50/50 at best.

This could become a real problem for the NFL if they have to reschedule the Super Bowl as millions of fans have made arrangements for this one day/week to head to New Jersey to take in the elements of Super Bowl week.

Grin and Bear it boys, as long as the fans can make it to the game, play on!
