Super Bowl! But what if you don’t want to watch the game with your honey? (Video)

It's the San Francisco 49ers in the Super Bowl! The whole Bay Area is wild with excitement. Of course the 49ers will win.

That's what your partner is saying, maybe even inviting friends over for the game, bringing out beer and chicken wings and chips and guacamole. C'mon honey!

Big Game days can turn into Big Fight days when one partner doesn’t want to watch the game. In fact, according to a just-released 60 Minutes/Vanity Fair Poll: Head Over Heels, 36% of couples argue over the TV.

What to do if that’s you?

When it’s the Super Bowl, let your partner have the remote. If you really can't bear to watch it, this would be a great time for shopping—the malls will be empty. Or meeting with friends. Or catching up on that long “To Do” list. Give yourself a walk or a project. Give your partner a break.

For your partner, this is the big day. And for you, this is about your relationship, about romance. Romance? Yes, romance is cumulative. This time you give. If you really have to watch your own show, tune in on your computer, or go to a friend’s house, or record it.

The romance will surely come back to you.
