Bruxie in Orange and Brea will have a Super Bowl battle of its own during Super Bowl Weekend. Which Belgian waffle sandwich will sell the most? The Patriots-style Classic New England Lobster Bruxie or the Giants-style Roasted New York Bruxie?
On Saturday, Feb. 4 the quick-serve eatery will keep track of how many of each style sandwich will be sold today. The number of Bruxies sold for each team will determine the Battle of the Bruxies winner. The winner will be announced on Super Bowl Sunday.
“We started this “battle” last year and our guests really got into it, so we brought it back this year,” said Dean Simon, managing partner of Bruxie.
The special sandwiches will be offered while supplies last on Sat., Feb. 4 beginning at 11 a.m.
The Patriots—Classic New England Lobster Bruxiefeatures lobster prepared New England-style, a touch of mayo, sea salt, pepper and chives and served on the classic Bruxie Waffle.
The Giants Roasted New York Bruxiewill feature hand-carved medium New York Strip with caramelized red onion, New York Cheddar, wild arugula, a touch of horseradish and balsamic reduction.
The Bruxie menu offers one-of-a-kind takes on authentic Belgian waffles. About a dozen types of sweet and savory waffle sandwiches are on the menu. In addition, the restaurant offers salads, real Wisconsin frozen custard, seasonal shakes, sundaes and floats. Nothing on the menu exceeds $10.
Bruxie’s two locations are in Old Towne Orange, 292 N. Glassell St. at Palm Ave. and in Brea Downtown, 215 W. Birch St.
