A former Fort Drum soldier will be featured on an advertisement for “CBS Cares”, a public service announcement, on Super Bowl Sunday.
Spc. Chavez (no first name given) is shown in a photograph carrying his Military Working Dog (MWD) on the tarmac at Wheeler-Sack Army Airfield at Fort Drum, NY.
The undated photograph was captured by Sgt. Jamie DeLon (Ret.), former Public Affairs photographer at Fort Drum, who, according to the Watertown Daily Times, now lives in California.
A spokesperson from Fort Drum’s 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 10th Mountain Division, said Spc. Chacez is listed as a member of the 1st Sryker Brigade Combat Team, 25th Infantry Division, Fort Wainwright, Alaska. The picture was taken as he returned from deployment in Afghanistan. (The soldier’s uniform would indicate this is from a recent combat deployment.)
The Military Working Dog was not identified. Open this link from the Watertown Daily News to view the photograph.
