The 2013 Super Bowl participants are confirmed as of Jan. 20, 2013, based on the winners of the NFL Divisional Championships. The big game, will feature the San Francisco 49ers, and the Baltimore Ravens, in a showdown for Super Bowl glory.
This development, has sparked a frenzy for late Super Bowl ticket sales, and flight needs to fly respective home team fans, to New Orleans, Louisiana, for the game. The bowl game will take place, at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome.
Jan. 21, ABC News reports, "Now that the two teams for Super Bowl 2013 are known, fans of the San Francisco 49ers and Baltimore Ravens who don’t have tickets are off to the secondary market, where the average price of a ticket is about $3,195.14. As of Monday morning, the lowest price for resale tickets was $2,168, according to ticket tracker TiqIQ."
The official Super Bowl ticket prices for the upper bowl, lower bowl and club seats are $850, $950 and $1,250 for 2013, according to Brian McCarthy, an NFL spokesman. These ticket prices are up to four times less expensive, compared to the secondary market, ticket pricing.
The 49ers have a large market in San Francisco, meaning a large fan base that might be willing to travel to New Orleans, said Chris Matcovich, director of data and communications at TiqIQ.
