Super Bowl 2013 is drawing near and it’s hard to believe but another season that seemingly started yesterday is drawing to an end. This year's Super Bowl matchup will feature strength vs. strength, defense vs. defense, and brother vs. brother when the San Francisco 49ers take on the Baltimore Ravens this Sunday, Feb. 3 from Louisiana’s Superdome.
This game is predicted to be a defensive hard hitting affair, yet both of these offenses are very explosive.
The 49ers are riding the hot hand of QB Colin Kaepernick, while one of the most underrated signal callers in the NFL, Joe Flacco has many offensive weapons on his side as well.
Here are the facts, you can throw out the X’s and O’s for this game entirely.
Just like the NFC and AFC title games, this game will come down to who makes the fewest mistakes.
That Atlanta Falcons had the 49ers beat, but a Matt Ryan fumble and a total melt down by the Falcons on the last drive of the game blew it for Atlanta.
Turnovers and mistakes will have to be at a minimum for both of these teams if they expect to be the new Super Bowl champion.
Enough talk, let’s get to the pick.
We finished our regular season picks in great fashion going 4-1 vs. the Las Vegas spread in Week 17 and finished the 2012 season at 63-38-1. Not too shabby.
However this is the last game of the season and the Super Bowl winning streak is on the line. Having successfully selected the Packers over the Steelers in Super Bowl XLV and the Giants over New England last season it’s time to go for three in a row.
Super Bowl bottom line: Both teams are rolling, but the Ravens have impressed me more. Beating Andrew Luck, Peyton Manning and Tom Brady is too much to overlook. The Vegas line opened at San Francisco -4.5 and the over/under number at 47.5.
As of today, Jan. 30 Las Vegas handicapper Jim Feist has the current line has the 49ers -4 and the numbers is at currently at 47.
This game has the looks of a classic Super Bowl that could be decided on the final drive. The points are too tempting in this spot.
