The Super Bowl 2013 date and time continue to inch closer as the latest NFL live playoff games go forth. After the latest weekend of wild card action, there will be just eight teams in the hunt for a spot in the Super Bowl XLVII (47) in New Orleans this year.
A report on NFL.com gives Super Bowl predictions as of Jan. 4 from several analysts and experts associated with the NFL website or network. The overwhelming favorite teams being chosen as picks to compete in the game are the Denver Broncos and Green Bay Packers. Other choices include the New England Patriots and Atlanta Falcons, all of whom remain alive as of this report.
Elliot Harrison of the NFL website says of his Broncos over Packers prediction:
"As things sit at this moment -- and I've been known to change my mind once I write my picks column -- I like Denver over Green Bay. The Broncos are running the football effectively, which, in addition to making the offense more diversified (so it's not all on Peyton Manning's shoulders), allows them to close. Clock ball is still not out of style, even in today's NFL. Meanwhile, my sense is that Green Bay's Aaron Rodgers will get hot in the postseason. The Packers' secondary has been a problem, but with Charles Woodson back, that unit's strength will become its flexibility ... even if tackling is still a bit of an issue."
The Denver Broncos will take on the Baltimore Ravens next, while the Green Bay Packers advanced from the NFC wild card round, with a victory over the Minnesota Vikings. Both teams are led by quarterbacks who have been in the big game, and won it before, with Peyton Manning, and Aaron Rodgers. It certainly would make for a classic and intriguing matchup.
While this matchup isn't quite certain just yet, several things are. The Super Bowl 47 game will be held at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans, Louisiana. The Super Bowl date is Feb. 3, 2013, with a start time of 6:30 p.m. EST. Viewers in the Roanoke area, as well as those across the nation will be able to watch the nationally televised presentation via CBS and its local affiliates.
